USDA TEAMS WITH DECISION LENS TO PRIORITIZE FUNDING AND SELECTION OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE HELPING TO MAKE STRATEGIC DECISIONS TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMY & LIFE IN RURAL AMERICA

Arlington, Virginia — To assist in selecting, planning, and funding for programs that improve the economy and quality of life in rural America, the United States Agricultural Department (USDA) Rural Development has selected Decision Lens to prioritize its strategic objectives and allocate resources for key decisions.

Decision Lens is working with USDA Rural Development to assist in IT prioritization within Rural Development's Office of the CIO and the Single Family Organization to select and plan for unfunded requirements. The software also supports their Enterprise Architecture (EA) program, including business component prioritization and selection of EA transition initiatives to support the EA Target Architecture. Decision Lens software is being used to help to make strategic decisions on where to reengineer business processes and IT systems to maximize business impact.

USDA Rural Development focuses on improving the economy and quality of life of rural America. Their financial programs support such essential public facilities and services as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities and electric and telephone service. They promote economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks and community-managed lending pools. They provide technical assistance and information to help agricultural and other cooperatives get started and help communities undertake community empowerment programs.

Decision Lens offers a unique solution to help government; businesses and other leading organizations make critical decisions on crucial issues using the intelligence of key players, vital data and other relevant factors. The system is available in a desktop version and as a secure online edition, which enables key-decision makers anywhere in the world to participate in real-time.

"With much of rural America struggling, the USDA Rural Development is charged with the difficult task of deciding where, when and how to provide financial and technical assistance," said John Saaty, chief executive officer of Decision Lens. "We are excited to assist the USDA in streamlining their decision making process with our software and technology to ensure they are accomplishing their mission."
