DECISION LENS SELECTED BY HOUSTON METRO FOR CAPITAL PLANNING

Decision Lens, a leading provider of Web-based collaborative decision making software, has been chosen by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, TX (METRO) to provide software and services for capital planning in support of its “State of Good Repair” initiative, among other applications.

Decision Lens is being used by METRO in conjunction with Trapeze Enterprise Asset Management, an enterprise software solution suite for transportation operations.

METRO was established in January 1979 as a regional multimodal transportation system serving Houston, TX, its outlying communities, and major portions of unincorporated Harris County. The system delivers safe, reliable, affordable and convenient public transit and mobility services to the Greater Houston region, supporting an economically dynamic, environmentally sustainable regional community.

“Extensive construction goals and the continued build out of mass transit infrastructure in Harris County make capital planning critical for Houston’s METRO,” said Decision Lens CEO John Kealey. “Working with the Trapeze Enterprise Asset Management System already in place at METRO, Decision Lens will use its extensive nation-wide experience in public transportation to ensure that resources are invested properly for the best possible service to commuters and other mass transit users in the Houston area.”

Decision Lens provides guidance and support for mass transit agencies throughout the country. The company worked closely with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to prioritize resources and projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The District of Columbia, Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Minnesota Department of Transportation (MinnDOT), San Francisco Municipal Transit Authority (SFMTA), Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA), Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation also use Decision Lens for resource allocation and planning.

The company serves numerous well-known national and international commercial clients including Petrobras, Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, Genentech, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the government with clients in the US Navy, the Joint Staff and USDA.
