DECISION LENS SELECTED BY CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY TO MANAGE VENDOR SELECTION DECISIONS

Decision Lens, the leading provider of cloud-based, prioritization and resource optimization software, announced today that the California Department of Technology has selected its flagship product, Decision Lens 3, to manage vendor selection decisions involving procurements that are valued at $5 million and above. With the Decision Lens technology platform, decision makers can cohesively plan the hundreds of IT projects it manages annually for the state of California.

On July 1, as part of Governor Jerry Brown's Government Reorganization Plan, the California Technology Agency became the California Department of Technology and now reports through the newly established Government Operations Agency. The reorganization also includes the launch of the new Statewide Technology Procurement Division, which is now responsible for procurement of the state's largest IT projects.

Before Decision Lens was deployed, the California Technology Agency managed procurements for IT projects using an internal process. With the deployment of Decision Lens 3, the agency (which is now the California Department of Technology) can now leverage a prioritization and resource allocation process to evaluate multiple scenarios involving budgets, vendors, timelines, etc.

“Decision Lens unique ability to deliver analytical insights into the internal decision making process for multi-million and billion dollar procurements hooked the California Department of Technology which now manages all large scale IT projects for the state,” said John Kealey, CEO of Decision Lens. “Decision Lens provides the optimum blend of technology, science, and human interaction to enable their decision makers to make the correct call.”

Decision Lens software is used across government and commercial organizations for improved prioritization and resource allocation. Key clients include Amtrak, Maryland Department of Transportation, Joint Staff, US Navy, Air Force, and Army, and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
