Solutions Value Engineer

We are seeking a Solutions Value Engineer to execute Decision Lens’ value engineering engagements across the customer lifecycle, with a primary focus on pre-sales and early post-sale phases. Partnering with Sales, Customer Experience, Product, and Performance Excellence, this role translates Decision Lens' offerings into measurable, outcome-driven value by leading value discovery, building defensible ROI and business cases, and designing and delivering Proof-of-Value (POV) engagements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Value Engineering
  • Apply the Solutions Value Engineering framework across value discovery, ROI and business case development, POV design and success criteria, and early value realization.
  • Ensure engagements remain anchored in value discovery, decision context, and executive intent and measurable outcomes rather than feature comparisons, using standard templates and methods to deliver repeatable results.
  • Validate solutions are tied to specific decisions, success metrics, and economic outcomes.
  • Develop solutions that focus on quantifying, proving, realizing, and reusing value across the customer lifecycle.
Pre-Sales
  • Partner with Account Executives and Sales leadership to conduct structured value discovery, develop executive-ready ROI models, and frame evaluations around shared decision criteria.
  • Support time-boxed, outcome-driven POV engagements that advance decisions and shorten sales cycles.
  • Define POV scope, success metrics, and measurement approach.
  • Coordinate configuration and data ingestion; lead checkpoints and executive readouts.
  • Accelerate sales cycles through decision-anchored storytelling and high-quality standard and custom product demonstrations delivered to mid- and C-level executives.

Collaboration

  • In partnership with cross-functional teams, translate pre-sale value assumptions into post-sale realization plans, support outcome tracking, and document results to enable renewals, expansions, and referenceable proof points.

  • The Solutions Value Engineer operates as a day-to-day value execution partner aligning Marketing, Sales, Product, Customer Experience, and Performance Excellence into a single, outcome-driven value system.

Measures of Success

  • Improved win rates and deal quality where value engineering is applied

  • POVs completed on time with clear success criteria and documented outcomes

  • Executive acceptance of ROI models and business cases

  • Customers achieving promised outcomes within defined windows

  • Renewal and expansion motions supported by credible outcome proof

  • 5–8 years in Solutions Engineering, Value Engineering, Strategy/Analytics Consulting, or similar enterprise customer-facing roles

  • This role requires technical fluency, quantitative rigor, and executive credibility, operating in a high-visibility capacity across customers, departments, and leadership.

  • Demonstrated success building ROI models and running POVs for complex B2B or B2G platforms

  • Experience engaging senior business leaders and facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops

  • Structured problem solving; strong systems and data fluency; advanced quantitative and financial modeling; executive communication and presence; disciplined execution; cross-functional influence without authority; high standards for evidence and measurement rigor

  • Experience in PPBE or regulated public-sector environments; familiarity with decision intelligence or planning platforms preferred.

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher
