Senior Analytics Engineer
Decision Lens is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Customer Experience (CX) team, serving as a client-facing analytics leader responsible for delivering actionable, data-driven insights that accelerate mission outcomes. In this role, you will work directly with federal clients, leading the design and execution of advanced analytics, mixed-methods research, and reporting solutions that enhance customer experience (CX) and user experience (UX). You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating complex data into strategic recommendations and measurable business impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Serve as the primary analytics point-of-contact for assigned client engagements, building trust with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Lead visioning sessions to define success metrics, data strategies, and analytical roadmaps aligned with mission priorities.
- Present complex findings through clear, compelling narratives and visualizations tailored for diverse audiences.
Analytics Design & Delivery
- Design and implement enterprise-wide data strategies, KPI frameworks, dashboards, and automated reporting pipelines to support strategic decision-making.
- Apply advanced statistical, geospatial, and machine learning techniques (e.g., NLP, clustering, predictive modeling) to uncover insights from structured and unstructured data.
- Integrate multiple data sources (surveys, CRM, IT systems, HR, operational, and financial) to create a holistic view of CX/UX performance.
- Lead mixed-methods research initiatives, including persona development, journey mapping, A/B testing, and usability evaluations.
Project Work
- Deliver professional services engagements through hands-on analytics, advisory, and facilitation work.
- Support onboarding, adoption, and value realization programs with data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to expand analytics scope within accounts to deliver additional value.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Partners on client engagements with CX, Product, and Engineering teams to embed insights into delivery strategies and product roadmaps.
- Develop reusable analytics tools, templates, and frameworks that improve delivery efficiency and scalability.
- Mentor internal team members on advanced analytics methodologies and tools.
- Develops industry intelligence reports in data intelligence to be used with clients and for marketing and growth purposes.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, CX/EX/UX research, or related consulting—preferably in public sector or federal environments.
- Proven experience advising executive stakeholders and delivering high-impact, client-facing analytics engagements.
- Advanced proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong understanding of overall research methods (including mixed methods), statistical modeling, machine learning, NLP, and geospatial analysis,.
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences.
- Security clearance eligibility (Public Trust or Secret).
- Experience with federal CX/EX initiatives, IT modernization, or agency transformation programs.
- Knowledge of human-centered design and service design thinking.
- Familiarity with Decision Lens or similar decision support platforms.
Location: Remote (Washington, DC area preferred). Travel up to 30% for customer meetings and onsite delivery.
