Product Marketing Manager
We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager to play a critical role in shaping how Decision Lens positions, packages, and communicates its integrated planning software to the public sector. This role is responsible for translating complex product capabilities into clear, mission-aligned value for government organizations seeking to modernize how they prioritize, plan, and fund.
The Product Marketing Manager owns competitive positioning, product messaging, and go-to-market launches, ensuring Decision Lens is clearly differentiated. This role partners closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Experience stakeholders to ensure our offerings are outcome-oriented and grounded in the challenges faced by government buyers.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating with autonomy in highly cross-functional environments and brings deep experience working within the federal sector, including an understanding of mission priorities and the realities of driving change in government organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the product marketing strategy, owning competitive positioning and differentiation.
- Translate product capabilities into clear, mission-aligned value for Federal, State, and Local government buyers.
- Develop compelling messaging, value propositions, and proof points.
- Weave qualitative customer outcomes and quantitative ROI into our GTM messaging.
- Partner closely with Product and Customer Experience to ensure messaging aligns with roadmap priorities and real customer needs.
- Own competitive intelligence and research efforts, including competitor capabilities, positioning, and market movements.
- Synthesize insights from solicitations, RFIs, market signals, and win/loss feedback into actionable guidance.
- Maintain competitive narratives and battlecards to support capture and sales motions.
- Support market analysis to inform launches, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
- Own go-to-market launches for new features, capabilities, and solutions.
- Define what is “marketable” versus purely technical, ensuring launches align with buyer readiness and procurement realities.
- Partner with Marketing and Product to develop launch messaging, timelines, and enablement materials.
- Ensure launches are supported by clear use cases, outcomes, and ROI narratives.
Sales Enablement, Strategy & Training
- Develop sales enablement materials that support federal selling and capture efforts.
- Lead strategy and training initiatives to educate internal teams on product value and differentiation.
- Provide guidance on how products should be positioned across agencies, mission areas, and buying personas.
- Assist with development of assets and collateral used in campaigns and solicitations.
Other Responsibilities:
- Support campaigns and events by providing product messaging, positioning, and narrative frameworks.
- Ensure campaign messaging aligns with competitive realities, buyer needs, and product truth.
- Partner with campaign owners to refine messaging for clarity, differentiation, and impact.
- Support ROI and outcomes storytelling tied to product capabilities and customer impact.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing, B2B or B2G marketing, or a related role, with demonstrated ownership of product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution.
- Proven ability to translate complex product capabilities into clear, mission-aligned value propositions and outcomes that resonate with public sector buyers.
- Strong storytelling skills grounded in competitive analysis, with experience developing differentiated narratives, proof points, and positioning against real market alternatives.
- Experience operating in an AI-first, data- and process-driven marketing environment, using insight, feedback loops, and market signals to inform messaging and strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in highly cross-functional environments, partnering effectively with Product, Marketing, Sales, Capture, and GTM stakeholders.
- Strong experience, if not fluency, working with the federal sector, including familiarity with mission-driven selling, procurement dynamics, and the realities of implementing change in government organizations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and align teams around a common narrative.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
- Creative, analytical, and resourceful, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Experience with ChatGPT, Hubspot, Canva, CMS, and project management tools (Monday, Asana etc.) preferred.
Location: Decision Lens operates in a remote-first environment (Washington, DC area preferred). Our headquarters are located in Arlington, VA. Occasional travel is required.
