Director of Contracting

Decision Lens is seeking an innovative Director of Contracting to play a pivotal role in driving business growth. Reporting to the EVP of Performance Excellence, you will work as part of an integrated team with Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Product and engage directly with customer stakeholders to support new sales, renewals, and expansions. Your expertise in federal contracting and innovative acquisition strategies will help shape effective acquisition pathways, streamline the contracting process, reduce risk, and shorten sales cycles.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contracting internally and externally. Act as a strategic growth partner by engaging early and collaborating with the Executive Team, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, and Product to align acquisition strategies, contract structures, and commitments with business objectives.
  • Lead contracting strategy and activities for new sales, renewals, and expansions. Review pricing and deal structures in coordination with Finance and deal owners, and advise internal teams and customers on supporting documentation. Develop scalable approaches that reflect Decision Lens’s SaaS and services model and support long-term customer growth.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Experience in pipeline and account reviews to identify and help mitigate contracting risks and develop acquisition roadmaps for priority opportunities, renewals, and expansions. Anticipate procurement and funding milestones and recommend pathways that support timely execution and broader enterprise adoption.
  • Develop and implement acquisition, contract vehicle, and channel strategies that expand market access across defense, federal civilian, and state and local markets. Build relationships with government stakeholders, primes, resellers, and vehicle holders to accelerate contracting while protecting Decision Lens’s customer relationships and commercial interests.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of government procurement trends, acquisition reforms, emerging acquisition authorities, buying models, and market best practices. Translate these insights into innovative strategies that strengthen Decision Lens’s market position and guide acquisition, contracting, and growth.
  • Advise on contracting rules, practices, and requirements, including subcontracting, contract performance, intellectual property and data rights, security obligations, required registrations, and contract-related government reporting. Provide contracting guidance and issue support throughout performance.
  • Create and maintain contracting processes, policies, and templates that support efficient execution. Maintain contract records and report on contracting activity in the CRM, using automation and AI to improve contracting workflows, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Advise internal teams during early customer engagement, acquisition strategy sessions, and government market research and acquisition activities such as RFIs, Sources Sought, and RFQs, serving as the primary resource for contracting questions.
  • Strengthen internal contracting capabilities by advising and training cross-functional stakeholders on deal structures, contracting requirements, documentation, issue resolution, and best practices.

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • A minimum of seven years of government contracting experience through pre-award and post-award activities is required, including experience supporting software-as-a-service and enabling professional and technical services.
  • Experience supporting defense and federal civilian markets is required. Familiarity with state and local government contracting is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, applicable agency supplements, and federal acquisition and PPBE processes is required, along with the ability to connect acquisition strategy with funding and procurement cycles.
  • Strong knowledge of federal contract vehicles and acquisition authorities such as SBIR/STTR, OTA, CSO, BAA, BPA, BOA, IDV, GSA MAS, and GWACs is required, along with the ability to evaluate opportunities and recommend effective paths to contract.
  • Working knowledge of reseller, channel partner, and subcontracting arrangements is required, including associated compliance, performance, intellectual property, data rights, and classified project requirements.
