DOD SELECTS DECISION LENS RESOURCE PLANNING, OFFICE OF OPERATIONALLY RESPONSIVE SPACE

Arlington, Virginia—Decision Lens, a leading provider of desktop and Web-based decision support software for enterprise resource allocation and planning, will provide software and services to the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Operationally Responsive Space (ORS), to support selection of vendors and sources for mission-critical equipment.

ORS is currently defined by the Department of Defense as "assured space power focused on timely satisfaction of Joint Force Commanders' needs." Based in Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM, the ORS Office is responsible for integrating joint ORS capabilities and applying ORS resources to the development, acquisition and demonstration of capabilities to meet specific responsive space needs as established by global combatant command joint force commanders and users.

Organizations involved in ORS activities to date include the Air Force, Army, Navy, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, National Reconnaissance Office, Missile Defense Agency, and NASA.

The ORS selected Decision Lens because of its powerful resource allocation capabilities, and user-friendly decision making platform. With Decision Lens, ORS will be able to balance stakeholder needs against vendor capabilities, to ensure that equipment vital to the mission of ORS can be procured cost-effectively through the most capable vendors.

"Operationally responsive space is the latest military innovation that builds on the capabilities of space to understand battlefield conditions and situational awareness," said John Saaty, CEO Decision Lens. "It's sophisticated mission that requires everything from ground equipment such as shuttle buses to the rockets themselves. The logistics behind the ORS mission is complicated, and Decision Lens is happy to take some of the guesswork out of the best investments for the resources needed for mission success."

Decision Lens serves numerous well-known national commercial clients including Johnson and Johnson, Corporate Executive Board, and the NFL, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the federal government and across the Intelligence Community, with clients in the US Navy, the Joint Staff and CENTCOM.
