U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION PARTNERING WITH DECISION LENS

INNOVATIVE SOFTWARE ASSISTING AGENCY'S STRATEGIC IT DECISIONS TO ENSURE NATION'S SAFE AND EFFECTIVE USE OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS

Arlington, Virginia — With skyrocketing oil prices increasing the demand for nuclear power, the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will be under more pressure to regulate the use of this energy source. To help in prioritizing, planning, and implementing of strategic IT decisions the agency employs to monitor the nation's use of radioactive materials and nuclear fuel, the NRC has selected Decision Lens.

Decision Lens is working with NRC to develop a customized, user-friendly decision making platform to assist the agency in making decisions around key IT assets to support the management of nuclear materials. The software is streamling the agency's decision-making process on IT technology to monitor and manage the nation's use of nuclear materials to ensure adequate protection of public health and safety, promote the common defense and security, and protect the environment.

Established by Congress in 1974, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory is an independent agency that regulates commercial nuclear power plants and other uses of nuclear materials, such as in nuclear medicine, through licensing, inspection and enforcement of its requirements.

Decision Lens offers a unique solution to help government; businesses and other leading organizations make critical decisions on crucial issues using the intelligence of key players, vital data and other relevant factors. The system is available in a desktop version and as a secure online edition, which enables key-decision makers anywhere in the world to participate in real-time.

"With the price of oil at record highs, the increased demand for alternative energy sources such as nuclear power will put additional pressure on NRC to regulate and manage the safe and effective use of this energy resource," said John Saaty, chief executive officer of Decision Lens. "We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the NRC to integrate our software and technology to help their decision making process to ensure the agency is fulfilling its mission."

Decision Lens software is used throughout the federal government including organizations such as the Joint Staff, Department of Agriculture, Navy, Air Force, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Intelligence Community. Within the commercial market, Decision Lens has numerous well-known clients including Johnson and Johnson, Corporate Executive Board, and eBay among other organizations.
