UTAH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ENHANCES THREE-YEAR CAPITAL PLANS BY APPLYING DECISION LENS SOFTWARE

CAPITAL ASSETS & IT PRIORITIZATION SOFTWARE ENABLES THREE-YEAR PLANNING FOR STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM

Today Decision Lens announced it is working with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to develop a three-year capital plan targeting highway preservation, safety, and mobility projects. Based off of the success of the three-year capital plan proof of concept, UDOT is additionally using Decision Lens for its IT prioritization and assistance with the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

DOT is responsible for maintaining over 6,000 miles of public roadway that constitute the network of state highways in Utah. With 14% of the state’s total highway system under their care, UDOT is constantly monitoring bridges, repairs, signage, building, and maintenance. The UDOT Traffic Operations Center monitors road conditions, accidents and safety with live camera coverage.

“We are very enthusiastic about the progressive use of Decision Lens by the Utah Department of Transportation. We are building a strong relationship with them and we look forward to their continued and expanded use of Decision Lens,” said John Kealey, CEO of Decision Lens. “Our software is enabling them to lay the groundwork for pilot programs they hope to take to a national level and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that lie ahead.”

In addition to UDOT, Decision Lens software is used throughout multiple state DOTs including the Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Delaware, Wisconsin, and Tennessee Departments of Transportation. The Decision Lens software is also used across government and commercial organizations for better prioritization and resource allocation. Key clients include Amtrak, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) as well as the Federal Aviation Administration and the Federal Railroad Administration, among others. Federal customers include the Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy, Army, General Services Administration, and Department of Agriculture.
