Decision Lens, the leading provider of cloud-based prioritization and resource optimization software, announced today that it has been chosen by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to assist the Southeast Wisconsin Municipal Planning Organization (SWMPO) for regional project prioritization planning. Serving under WisDOT, the SWMPO is the regional authority of transportation in the Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha areas, which is the most populous region in the state of Wisconsin. Since SWMPO deals with a large and challenging capacity of aging assets, Decision Lens will be used as part of a comprehensive effort to identify and prioritize projects to improve the highways and assets within the region as well as provide complete transparency to communities and businesses who are consistently reviewing how and why tax payer dollars are being allocated.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) was officially established in 1967 by combining formerly independent agencies and the Department of Motor Vehicles (which included the State Highway Commission, State Aeronautics Commission and State Patrol). The department is responsible for planning, building and maintaining Wisconsin's network of state highways and Interstate highway system.
