DECISION LENS SELECTED BY WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR PROJECT PRIORITIZATION EFFORTS

Decision Lens, the leading provider of cloud-based prioritization and resource optimization software, announced today that it has been chosen by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to assist the Southeast Wisconsin Municipal Planning Organization (SWMPO) for regional project prioritization planning. Serving under WisDOT, the SWMPO is the regional authority of transportation in the Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha areas, which is the most populous region in the state of Wisconsin. Since SWMPO deals with a large and challenging capacity of aging assets, Decision Lens will be used as part of a comprehensive effort to identify and prioritize projects to improve the highways and assets within the region as well as provide complete transparency to communities and businesses who are consistently reviewing how and why tax payer dollars are being allocated.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) was officially established in 1967 by combining formerly independent agencies and the Department of Motor Vehicles (which included the State Highway Commission, State Aeronautics Commission and State Patrol). The department is responsible for planning, building and maintaining Wisconsin's network of state highways and Interstate highway system. The department shares the costs of building and operating county and local transportation systems - from highways to public transit and other modes. WisDOT plans, promotes and financially supports statewide air, rail and water transportation, as well as bicycle and pedestrian facilities. Visit http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/ to learn more.

“The Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s southeast municipal planning organization is continually being barraged by multiple complaints and lawsuits for how and why it is allocating tax payer dollars for capital improvement projects in its southeast region so the state agency turned to Decision Lens to manage the prioritization process used to select each transportation project,” said John Kealey, CEO of Decision Lens. “Using Decision Lens a state agency for the first time can provide both complete transparency and a scientific explanation to its constituents regarding how it’s spending tax payer funds.”

Decision Lens provides guidance and support for mass transit agencies and transportation departments throughout the country. The company works closely with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority to prioritize resources and projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), San Francisco Municipal Transit Authority (SFMTA), Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) also use Decision Lens for planning and resource optimization among others.

The company serves numerous well-known national and international commercial clients including Kraft, Genentech, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Shell, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the government with clients in the US Navy, the Joint Staff and USDA.
