NAVSEA TO USE DECISION LENS FOR LITTORAL AND MINE WARFARE BUDGETING

NAVSEA to Use Decision Lens for Littoral and Mine Warfare Budgeting Arlington, Virginia— Decision Lens, a leading provider of desktop and Web-based collaborative decision support software for enterprise resource allocation and planning, will provide software and services to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), to support budgeting and planning in its Program Executive Office — Littoral and Mine Warfare (PEO-LMW). The largest of the US Navy's five "systems commands," or materiel organizations, NAVSEA accounts for nearly one-fifth of the Navy's budget, with more than 100 acquisition programs under its management. NAVSEA is made up of 5 Program Executive Offices (PEO's) that are responsible for all aspects of life-cycle management of their assigned programs. PEO-LMW focuses on assuring access to the "littoral battle space" — specifically, coastal regions or the zone between the limits of high and low tides. Managing a diverse portfolio of more than 200 products and services from seven program offices, PEO LMW supports naval and joint-force requirements for dominance in the littorals. "The Navy depends on being able to move ships and personnel as safely as possible through waters around the world," explained Decision Lens CEO John Saaty. "NAVSEA's work through its LMW office ensures that it is appropriately prepared for new and emerging threats to naval vessels worldwide, and Decision Lens is proud to give the PEO-LMW the capability of making these critical decisions with supreme confidence." Decision Lens serves numerous well-known national commercial clients including Johnson and Johnson, Corporate Executive Board, and the NFL, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the federal government and across the Intelligence Community, NASA, the Joint Staff and CENTCOM.
