DECISION LENS SELECTED BY WASHINGTON STATE OCIO FOR PRIORITIZATION OF $400M TECHNOLOGY BUDGET

Powerful Insights and Analytics Enable Washington State to Prioritize IT Resource Allocation to Maximize Value for Taxpayers

Decision Lens, the leading provider of Strategic Prioritization and Enterprise Resource Optimization solutions, announced today that it was selected by the Washington State Office of the CIO (OCIO) to prioritize technology projects submitted by all agencies across the state. The Washington State OCIO is using Decision Lens to prioritize the technology projects based on legislation (RCW 43.88.092) that requires a rigorous, categorical, and transparent priority ranking process.

Decision Lens also allowed Washington State IT to reduce the time spent on IT prioritization by 90%.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) sets information technology (IT) policy and direction for the State of Washington. The State CIO is a member of the Governor’s Executive Cabinet and advisor to the Governor on technology issues.

Prior to Decision Lens, the State was under-satisfied with its previous selection and prioritization process, and never found a truly collaborative solution between the different agencies and members of the technology board. Now, they will not only fulfill the legal requirement for a transparent prioritization ranking, but also deliver an optimized IT budget that satisfies the requirements of all member agencies.

Washington State Deputy CIO Michael DeAngelo said, “We now have a defensible and repeatable solution that can be placed in front the legislature with confidence that the projects are prioritized according to the value they deliver to the people of Washington State.”

“State CIOs have the tremendous responsibility of selecting and prioritizing state-wide information technology projects that serve the citizenry and aid in economic growth,” said John Kealey, CEO of Decision Lens. “Using Decision Lens, The Washington OCIO will save time and money and have a truly defensible, prioritized list of technology investments that they can stand behind when legislatures require.”
