DECISION LENS SELECTED BY ARMY INSTALLATION MANAGEMENT COMMAND FOR BUDGET PRIORITIZATION

Decision Lens, a leading provider of desktop and Web-based collaborative decision making software, has been chosen by the Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) to provide software and services to prioritize U.S. Army military construction projects. Morale, Welfare, and Recreational (MWR) operations, governance, and IT assets will also be among the budgeting prioritization efforts.

IMCOM was formed in 2006 to reduce bureaucracy, apply a uniform business structure to manage U.S. Army installations, sustain the environment and enhance the well-being of the military community.

Routinely, IMCOM must prioritize nearly one thousand projects for what’s known as a Program Objective Memoranda (POM) – planned activities or programs and the resources required over a five-year period to build, operate, and maintain these proposed programs. Previously, projects were prioritized based on various submissions from constituents.

The time-consuming process involves lengthy discussions about preferences, the perceived value of the projects, and the associated costs. Decision Lens was brought on to establish a more structured, transparent, and efficient process for military construction planning.

“Military construction planning is an elaborate process, involving many high-dollar decisions shared by multiple stakeholders. It’s a perfect environment to implement our software and services,” said Decision Lens CEO John Saaty. “We’re looking forward to being able to provide IMCOM with an end-to-end prioritization and resource allocation process that can create improved efficiencies in the budget process across IMCOM’s functional areas,” Saaty added.

Decision Lens software is used widely throughout state and federal government agencies and across the Intelligence Community, with clients including the US Navy, the Joint Staff and CENTCOM. Decision Lens also serves numerous well-known national and international commercial clients such as Petrobras, Johnson and Johnson, Kraft, and Superbowl-winning Green Bay Packers, among other organizations.
