DECISION LENS JOINS INCOMMON FEDERATION

Decision Lens, the leading provider of cloud-based collaborative decision making software, announced today that it has joined the InCommon.org Federation, a collection of organizations that have agreed to interoperate using a common set of rules and Single Sign-On (SSO) technology. As a result of entering the federation, Decision Lens can now quickly implement a federated, SSO setup with any other members of InCommon. Members of InCommon include Penn State University, Computer Sciences Corporation's GlobalPass system and the National Science Foundation.

The InCommon.org Federation is the U.S. education and research identity federation, providing a common framework for trusted and shared management of access to on-line resources. Through InCommon, identity providers can give their users single sign-on convenience and privacy protection, while online service providers control access to their protected resources. Because of these agreements, federation members do not have to negotiate individually with every other member. Federations also agree on standard methods for authentication and authorization, using single sign-on technology.

“Decision Lens’ addition to the InCommon Federation will be an invaluable asset to the group of participating organizations, especially universities who are always striving to maximize budget and project efficiencies,” said John Kealey, CEO of Decision Lens.

In addition Decision Lens strong presence in the higher education market with clients including the University of Delaware, The Ohio State University and Penn State University, the company also serves numerous well-known national and international commercial clients including Kraft, Genentech, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens, Petrobras, among other organizations. Decision Lens software also is used widely throughout the government with clients in the US Navy, the Joint Staff and USDA.
